A of fellow of CPA Ireland, Joan is a qualified accountant and qualified financial advisor by profession, she works as a financial consultant in Limerick. She joined the committee of Lymphoedema Ireland (a voluntary patient advocacy group) in 2015. She is passionate about the organisations and she together with other members of the committee voluntarily give their time to offer support, help and information to anyone in Ireland affected with lymphoedema. The organisation also advocates for services for all patients with lymphoedema and lipoedema. She currently holds the position of Interim Chairperson with Lymphoedema Ireland and is their representative on the NLFI committee. She has a personal understanding of Primary Lymphoedema having been diagnosed with bi-lateral lower limb lymphoedema.
